Mario has more than 12 years' experience in the market and has worked for some of the most renowned law firms in Brazil and Latin America. With a strong conflict resolution practice, Mario brings together the know-how of strategic litigation and the expertise in complex matters involving intellectual property, digital law and technology, data protection, commercial contracts and civil liability.

Throughout his career, Mario has accumulated relevant experience in strategic litigation and arbitration, representing large technology companies as well as multinationals from various sectors. He has worked as a team coordinator and project manager, developing complex procedural strategies and leading large-scale lawsuits both in the pre-litigation negotiation and dispute resolution phases.

In addition to his legal practice, Mario is an active contributor to academic production, with a book published on algorithmic bias and several articles in renowned journals and specialized portals. He is a member of several professional associations, including the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (ABPI), the Brazilian Association of Information Technology and Communications Law (ABDTIC), the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), and INOVARB-ANCHAM.

  • Represented a large multinational pharmaceutical company in a complex lawsuit concerning data protection related to safety, quality, and efficacy tests conducted by the pharmaceutical company and submitted to the National Health Surveillance Agency for commercial drug approval.

  • Advised a construction industry client (contractor) on legal and technical arguments, as well as risk assessment concerning a potential arbitration involving a dispute over poor performance and subsequent abandonment of a contract (by the contractor) for constructing a raw water capture and distribution system for a Brazilian city. Disputed amount: BRL 100 million.
  • Coordinated a team of lawyers responsible for the judicial representation of a large Chilean supermarket conglomerate in an arbitration process based in Brazil and related disputes, discussing its expansion in Brazil through the acquisition of a Brazilian supermarket chain. The arbitration process encompasses discussions on the execution of a complex contract that includes (i) the acquisition of all stores of a renowned Brazilian supermarket chain, (ii) the provision of services for building new stores, and (iii) strategic consulting by the former owners of the Brazilian supermarket chain. Disputed amount: BRL 400 million.
  • Represented a national company in an arbitration proceeding before CSD-ABPI in a dispute involving a domain name.
  • Represented one of the largest multinational automotive companies in a high-value lawsuit addressing poor performance and subsequent abandonment of a contract by the company’s principal agent in Brazil.
  • Represented one of the largest Brazilian textile companies in various lawsuits related to corporate conflicts between majority and minority shareholders.
  • Represented several clients in the chemical components sector in public civil actions and complex class actions addressing material, moral, socioeconomic, and environmental damages resulting from the improper storage of toxic waste.
  • Advised and drafted complex contracts for the operations of one of the largest multinational companies in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and personal hygiene products sectors.
