Understand how the new regulatory agenda for betting could reshape the market
Partner Juliana Sene Ikeda, from Campos Thomaz Advogados, analyzed the new 2026/2027 regulatory agenda of the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA), which sets out the regulatory priorities for Brazil’s betting sector in the coming years.
According to Análise.com, the agenda includes a review of the authorization criteria for operators, stricter enforcement measures, clearer rules for digital advertising — including the activities of affiliates — and a possible expansion of regulation over physical betting locations.
For Juliana, the initiative increases regulatory predictability but also raises the level of requirements for companies operating in the sector.
“The new agenda reinforces the need for robust compliance and governance structures. Operators that anticipate regulatory adjustments will gain a competitive advantage in a market that is expected to consolidate by 2027,” she states.
