On February 19, 2025, Deputy Mendonça Filho (UNIÃO/PE) submitted Request No. 52/2025, calling for the establishment of a Special Committee in the Chamber of Deputies to deepen discussions on artificial intelligence (AI). The proposal aims to analyze AI’s impact on the economy, labor market, and fundamental rights.

The creation of this special committee could drive the development of a more robust and updated regulatory framework, ensuring the safe and ethical use of AI in Brazil. The request is still under review and, if approved, could mark a significant step toward modernizing the legislative debate on AI. Learn more,
