The Electronic Judicial Domicile (DoJE) is an initiative under the Justice 4.0 Program, launched in 2023, designed to link Brazilian courts with registered individuals, centralizing all procedural communications on a single digital platform.
Registration is mandatory for both public and private legal entities, in accordance with Article 16 of National Council of Justice (CNJ) Resolution No. 455/22 and Article 246, § 1 of the Civil Procedure Code (CPC), as amended by Law No. 14.195/21.
Below we provide some pertinent information:
- By registering with DoJE, users will gain access to all procedural communications, such as summonses and subpoenas, from all courts associated with the registered CPF or CNPJ;
- After registering, users have the option to activate email notifications. Without activation, users will only be aware of the communications (but not necessarily their content) by directly accessing the platform;
- The registration deadline is (i) for legal entities, May 30, 2024, and (ii) for individuals, September 1, 2024;
- For individuals and small and micro-enterprises already registered with an electronic address in the integrated REDESIM system (National Network for the Simplification of Registration and Legalization of Companies and Businesses), registration with the Electronic Judicial Domicile is not mandatory;
- Companies that miss the registration deadline will be automatically registered, which may lead to risks due to incorrect or outdated data;
We emphasize the need for all large and medium-sized companies to register with DoJE as soon as possible to ensure efficient procedural communication and avoid missing deadlines.
