X Announces Restrictions on Grok’s Generation of Sexualized Images Following International Pressure

The X platform announced the adoption of measures to prevent its artificial intelligence chatbot, Grok, from generating or editing images of real individuals with sexualized content, including the addition of underwear, swimwear, or simulated nudity. According to the company, the restrictions involve geofencing such functionalities in jurisdictions where they are deemed illegal and apply to all users, including paid subscribers. Learn more.

Italian Antitrust Authority closes investigation into DeepSeek over AI “hallucinations”

On January 5, 2026, the Italian Competition Authority (Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato – AGCM) closed the investigation initiated against the Chinese artificial intelligence company DeepSeek, without establishing any infringement. The decision followed the acceptance of commitments proposed by the company, which were deemed sufficient to eliminate potential unfairness concerns related to the commercial practices under investigation, as reported in the authority’s official bulletin. Trump Issues Executive Order to Preempt State-Level AI Regulation

On December 11, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order preventing individual states from enacting or enforcing their own artificial intelligence regulations. The order authorizes the federal government to challenge state-level AI laws in court and establishes a dedicated AI Litigation Task Force within the Department of Justice, with exclusive authority to contest such state measures. Portugal advances AI strategy with National Agenda and strategic investment through 2030

The Government of Portugal has presented the National Artificial Intelligence Agenda (ANIA), an initiative that mobilizes more than EUR 400 million by 2030 to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence across the economy and Public Administration.
