The World Economic Forum’s Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) India, in collaboration with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, released three publications under the AI for India 2030 initiative. The documents include the AI Playbook for Agriculture, the AI Playbook for SMEs, and a white paper focused on shaping India’s AI Sandbox ecosystem. Together, they aim to guide policy, investment, and responsible innovation to translate AI’s potential into practical nationwide impact.

The agriculture playbook provides an actionable pathway to deploy AI solutions that enhance productivity and benefit millions of farmers across the country. The SME playbook outlines frameworks for scalable and responsible technology adoption to strengthen competitiveness and digital transformation. The AI Sandbox white paper sets out recommendations for regulatory testbeds designed to foster experimentation while ensuring safety, trust and effective governance for emerging AI systems.
