MCTI establishes Integrated Committee for Digital Governance, Information Security and Data Governance (CGSD)

On August 22, 2025, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) established, through Ordinance No. 9,325, the Integrated Committee for Digital Governance, Information Security and Data Governance (CGSD). The new body will centralize strategic coordination of initiatives related to digital transformation, information technology, data opening and management, as well as cybersecurity within the ministry.

The CGSD is responsible for deliberating on instruments such as the ICT Strategic Plan (PETIC), the ICT Master Plan (PDTIC), the Digital Transformation Plan, the Open Data Plan and the Data Governance Plan. The committee will also define investment priorities, propose rules for the use and sharing of data — including sensitive data — and oversee the centralized data repository (datalake), maintaining updated inventories and catalogs while guiding internal units on data curation and proper use of information.
