At a press conference held on May 26, the Central Bank of Brazil announced a series of new financial citizenship services aimed at increasing security, improving access, and automating processes for the public. Key innovations include the automatic receipt of funds via the “Valores a Receber” (SVR) system using a Pix key, the option for citizens to inform the financial system that they do not wish to have new bank accounts opened in their name (starting in December), the use of artificial intelligence in the chatbot Din, the integration of services through the “Meu BC” platform, and the launch of a new, more user-friendly Citizen’s Calculator. These initiatives are part of a broader strategy based on the pillars of inclusion, protection, education, and citizen participation in the financial system.

The first feature to go live is the automatic SVR system, available from May 27, which enables users to receive unclaimed funds directly into their account without the need for manual requests. In December, a new security tool will allow users to block the unauthorized opening of bank accounts in their name, as a fraud prevention measure. All services are voluntary and require prior user authorization, accessible through the Meu BC platform with a gov.br login. With these initiatives, the Central Bank aims to empower individuals and make it easier for them to monitor and manage their financial lives in a secure and accessible way.
